national guard armory. and the gilroy national guard armory. >> pam: citrus farmers in california's central valley are also bracing for the cold snap. temperatures could drop below freezing. >> pam: the national weather service has issued a freeze watch. for the central and southern san joaquin valley starting late wednesday and continuing through saturday. >> pam: citrus growers are monitoring the weather. to determine if they should begin defensive procedures. to protect the plants against the cold. >> pam: it looks like an oakland toddler, who nearly drowned in a vallejo creek over the weekend, is going to pull through and make a full recovery. >> pam: the two- year-old had been in critical condition. he fell into the water at blue rock springs creek on saturday, while fishing with his great grandmother. the boy got stuck in a drainage tunnel, and was thought to be under water for 10- to 15- minutes. thankfully, vallejo firefighters jumped into the water, searched for the boy, pulled him out, checked his pulse, and saved his life.

'way' too fast. four people died in this crash. >> catherine: but it's still not clear if the problem was human error - or brake trouble. . >> catherine: dozens of people were injured. four killed. and the investigation into what went wrong could last for months. >> catherine: but here's what we do know. at a curve that requires a drastic reduction in speed - from about 70 miles an hour >> catherine: down to thirty miles an hour --- the train was going too fast. nearly 3 times faster than the limit. all seven passenger cars and the engine car derailed. >> catherine: "i became

aware of the screeching metal and then i became aware, this is a train crash and this is happening." >> catherine: the operator says he applied the brakes - but the train did not slow down. he's a 20-year-veteran and routine drug an alcohol testing has been done.. investigators are examining two different data recordersfrom the wreckage. >> catherine: it's the second time in 6 months that a train has jumped the tracks in the same area. in july - only 1700 feet away - there was a similar incident when a freight car derailed around the same bend. >> catherine: of the 67 people injured - three are in critical condition tonight. the wreck came two years before the federal government's deadline for some railroads to start using an automatic slow-down
